It was only the latter part of the 1950s in the UK that the sexy black stilettos were born. It was all thanks to the technology that was utilized that time which was the use of a metal shaft to be integrated in the heel. Before that time, the heels only used weaker materials such as wood.

The black stilettos had to endure lots of changes before it became the stilettos that we know of today. Back in the 1960s the toes of the stilettos were so elongated and narrow that the stilettos became as long and looked like a heel also.

The readily available to purchase stiletto shoes came about during 1974. But, the demand and market for these shoes only became active after 10 to 15 years.

In England, the stilettos were a bit easier to see in the smaller fashion boutiques, so the people mostly wore black stilettos. The 1970s regarded the black stilettos as accessories to people who considered themselves punk, but the punk crowd was only a small population so it was really not sufficient to make them famous and popular.

By the middle of the 1980s, the sexy stilettos once again was not seen, and it was only during the 1990s that the black stilettos had a huge comeback again.

Today, women are using the black stilettos as part of their office attire to have a unique look in the office. I believe that the black stilettos will always be around even if they disappear for sometime. A comeback is just around the corner.
