Whats All Of The Hype Behind Yogurt

How many of us have been to the grocery store lately and have seen the yogurt isle? I'm sure that anyone who has is surely amazed by the variety. The yogurt isle is long and colorful and it overpowers most of the other dairy products. Due to the large selection, it is often difficult to choose the healthiest choice. So what ingredients should we look for in this particular product and what are some of the potential health benefits we can gain?

Since yogurt is made of milk, one of the potential benefits we gain from it is animal protein. A six ounce serving provides the body with nine grams of protein. Some other nutritional values that the product contains include: calcium, magnesium, potassium, vitamin B-2, and vitamin B-12. Probiotics is yet another word that we can find on a lot of yogurt packaging. What this is a friendly bacterium which is naturally present in our digestive system. This particular bacterium boosts our immune system and promotes a healthy digestive tract.

The active cultures also aid with several gastrointestinal conditions. Constipation, diarrhea, lactose intolerance, colon cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease can all benefit from the live cultures present in yogurt. This particular food can also increase out immunity, decrease vaginal infections, build strong bones, and promote weight loss. Furthermore, only 2 to 3 servings of dairy can reduce our chances of developing high blood pressure by 50 percent. So as you can see, yogurt does a lot more than promote a healthy intestinal system. So why not incorporate more of it into our diets? It is delicious, it comes in many flavors, and it is very beneficial to our health. So the next time you are at the grocery store, pick up some yogurt and your body will thank you.
