Everyone has heard that consuming five servings of fruit and vegetables each day is beneficial to your health. But who really knows what does health benefits are?

One benefit of consuming fruit is associated with your digestive tract. Fruit are natural laxatives and they help your body during the digestive process. They provide roughage and fiber, both of which aid in the body's ability of getting rid of waste. A healthy digestive system is a very important part of a healthy body. It improves your immunity and it helps your body get rid of toxins. So if you can improve your health by eating more fruit, why wouldn't you?

Fruit also protects your body from illness. Numerous fruit contain a wide variety of essential vitamins and minerals. For instance, citrus fruit are abundant in vitamins C and A. Other fruit are rich in vitamins A, C, and E. Majority of these vitamins are actually antioxidants. Consuming a high number of antioxidants shields our bodies from free radicals. Fruit with the highest antioxidant levels are blueberries. So try to incorporate more of this fruit into your daily diet. These antioxidant rich foods protect our bodies from several serious illnesses, such as cancer. Other benefits which stem from consuming fruit include a beautiful complexion and a reduction in the effects of aging. Just as antioxidants are good for you body, they are also good for your skin. They improve your skin's outer appearance making you look younger and healthier. That is why a lot today's facial cosmetics and moisturizers are enriches with antioxidants. So if you have ever doubted the power of fruit, doubt no more. Improve your health and beauty by eating the recommended five servings of fruit each and every single day.
